[ Bass didn't know how it was possible but Mimmi -Mimmi Kopanski, Mimmi from that Goddamn ship that he wanted to forget, that Mimmi- was here. In his world. Walking down the street.
Granted, she looked confused and lost and very unsure as to where she was, but she happened to be in America a few hundred years after she would have died naturally. Even worse than that-
She was right in the middle of a bona fide danger zone. Namely, two steps away from a cluster of structures Wily wanted blasted to the ground after Bass extracted all the necessary information from the databanks within. Great. Great.
First things first; Bass had to escort her from the area or she'd probably get caught up in the confusion and die. He snarled, stormed over to Mimmi and took her arm in hand, hissing darkly in German, ]
Move. Come with me, right now.

All right.
[Reasonable enough, considering the circumstances. She's trying really hard not to be grudgey.]

Doesn't matter anyway, they're at the hotel and Bass just deposits her there and leaves. Thankfully, it's only about ten minutes until he returns (teleportation is so useful, he missed it so much on the ship) and just to be even weirder, he enters through the window.
Or tries to. They auto-lock and all, and he's outside. He taps on the glass, scowling at Mimmi through it. ]
no subject
She's glad he didn't take too long. But really, why do you have to return via window? There is a door.
Mimmi gets off the bed and unlocks the window, opening it so Bass can get inside.]

Bass just walks in, sits down in a corner and glares at her like it's her fault her life is fucked up right now. ]
...this is fucking stupid. How the hell are you here?!
no subject
I do not know. I did not choose to be here. I do not even know where here is.

[ God he could just. Punch a baby. Just right now, he could go into the street and slap an infant, that's how angry he is over this. ]
This isn't going to work. You need to leave. If you stick around here you're just going to get in trouble.
no subject
I am sorry, but I do not think I can get myself back on my own. So if you have a suggestion I would love to hear it.
[You better not slap a baby, Bass. Then you'll have and angsty Mimmi on your hands.]

[ Bass sulks for a few more seconds before leaping to his feet and stamping a foot. ]
FUCK! What the hell now?!
no subject
[SIGH. Mimmi rubs her face.]
I am simply glad you are alive.
no subject
Yeah well-
Well he doesn't care that you're all right! He doesn't! ]
...whatever.
You can't stay with me. I move around too much, I don't stop at nights and I don't keep things to eat.
no subject
[Maybe.]
I could work for food.
[She's hoping this is kind of temporary. And she doesn't even know where or how she'd work.
Wash peoples clothes or something.]
no subject
[ ...WAIT THAT SOUNDS LIKE HE'S CARING ABOUT HER- ]
I mean that I'll get you money first! Steal it from the old crackpot's bank account or something-!
no subject
Alright, alright. Calm down. I was only making a suggestion.
no subject
You can't stay in this city. You should probably go back to Germany, overseas. And I'll need to forge all your papers and shit, too.
no subject
[Jeez it's so useful to have someone who can easily fake all this crap for you.
But hey wait a minute.]
Is it safe to go to Germany?
no subject
[ It takes a second before Bass realizes what she's actually asking- that's right. She's from the time around World War II. ]
Yeah. It's safe. World War II was hundreds of years ago.
no subject
Goodness that is a long time.
[Guess she has nothing to worry about. Unless she can't figure out hwo to work anything.]
c-can i tag this back
[ There's so much about normal, every day things Mimmi won't even understand until he gives her a course in modern technology. Could she even figure out how to work the credit system with no physical money?
Bass stands up and paces along the length of the room, lacing his fingers together behind his neck. ]
Fine. Fuck. Fine, okay. This is what we're going to do. I'm going to take you to Germany and get you set up. I'll stay for...a week. And then you're on your own, got it?
[ Not like he wouldn't be popping in to check on her, but that wasn't because he gave a rat's ass or anything. He just didn't want his efforts to integrate her into modern society to be wasted by her doing something stupid like starving to death because she forgot how to buy groceries the new way. ]
NO NEVER 83
Mimmi gives Bass a look, currently trying to picture herself alone in future Germany. It's a very lonely thought. And kind of terrifying. But dammit she can handle it. She can take care of herself. Somehow.
Even if everything she's ever known is long gone.]
When are we leaving?
I'M SORRY
[ Bass heads over to the window and opens it, putting a foot on the sill. ]
I've got shit to do. If you need something, order room service.
ILU IT'S K
[She watches him go, still wondering why the heck he doesn't just use a door. Windows are not safe to climb through, Bass.]
Be safe.
[And she'll try to figure out this room service thing!]
no subject
KNOCK KNOCK. Hopefully Mimmi isn't sleeping too soundly. ]
no subject
Oh. It was just Bass. Again. Okay.
Mimmi crawls out of the bed (she hadn't been sleeping much anyway, it was so weird that everything was so still after being on a ship for so long) and pulls the window open again.]
Good morning.
